Shine Busters
“Do all things without
complaining and disputing, 15that you may become blameless and
harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse
generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” Philippians 2:14-15
NKJV
The words we speak can really get us into trouble.
We can use our words to literally sow good things or evil things
spiritually. The above passage
reveals that complaining and disputing are basically “shine busters.”
If we’re complaining and disputing, the love of God cannot flow through
us to other people, and they won’t enjoy being around us.
This doesn’t mean that we have to agree with what people are saying or
acquiesce to evil. It does mean
that we should strive to let God be the Judge and not to try to take his place.
Our best role is to be God’s instrument of love and compassion to
people. Speaking words of hope,
love, encouragement and faith will help people in so many ways. Love can open
doors and disarm defensive postures better than any disputing could ever
accomplish.

Prayer:
“Heavenly Father, Thank you
for giving me the ability to speak. Please forgive me for the sinful ways I have
used my words in the past. Father,
please help me to always speak positive words that will help share your love and
hope with people. Please help me to
shine as a light in the world and bring glory to your name.
Thank you, Father! In
Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
