Sex Addiction Support Groups
Updated:
06/28/2009
It is important for our spiritual and emotional
health to meet regularly with other people who are seeking recovery.
Walking in purity can be challenging, and the support and encouragement of
others on the same path can be helpful in keeping us on track to freedom.
There are a variety of formats and philosophies
for support groups. The groups listed here do not necessarily hold the
same beliefs as this site's author. With that in mind, we encourage
you to thoroughly check out a prospective group's beliefs before committing to
it. Most of the groups listed on this page are
Christian-oriented groups. Some groups, such as
Sexaholics Anonymous, offer fairly
non-religious, 12-Step programs similar to Alcoholics Anonymous.
A note for Christians...If you are a Christian, one of the dangers you
face with sex addiction is becoming isolated or alienated from the body of
Christ. Fear of rejection or
judgment are common tools the evil one uses to steer people away from breaking
secrecy with other Christians. Don't allow the devil to cut you off from
the prayer support, teaching and encouragement that you
need. Consider Hebrews 10:24-25
NIV: 24And let us consider
how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us
not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us
encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
If you are involved in a good support group and would like to list it on this
page, please contact us.
